White teeth behind crooked smiles
smelling of whiskey and desperation
infused with lust and a hint of disdain.
Leeches, who come to drain
to feed and take from you and
when they’re done they leave
you to recover so they can
come back and do it again.
They will try and cut your wings
try to tame the freedom in your feet.
Don’t let them.

If you are generalizing, you hurt my feeling😭😭After a long career in engineering, recently moved to sales. Neither drink whiskey, nor have a crooked smile. In fact, my better half is complaining that I don’t smile any more.
